During the Lockdown of 2020
I made 3 film-shorts:
A Film Noir,
A Scene from Shakespeare,
A Dance Narrative.

Lockdown Boulevard. A Film Noir.
(adapted from ‘Sunset Boulevard’, Movie and Musical)

“… an artistic triumph of creativity.
The production values are astonishing.
Incredibly this is an entirely one-man project.”
– Dance Europe

Made alone … as solo d.o.p., designer, editor and performer.
This was a 5 week project with a shoot over 4 days and nights.

……………………………………………………………………

Prospero / The Tempest.
“Ye Elves” –  Act 5, Sc 1

A monologue from ‘The Tempest’.
It resonates strongly with Lockdown.
People with too much time to reflect on their lives.

A single set-up. A claustrophobic atmosphere to represent Prospero’s cell and the island itself.

Just a hand held camera moving around my head and the details of the set.
Made alone … as solo d.o.p., designer, editor and performer.

A Sense of Dawn.
OR
Il Verso dell’Alba
(literally, The direction or the verse of the dawn)

This film was a commission by the culture office of my Town Hall
to mark the end of the first quarantine.

My collaborator, as photographer/editor, was Francesco Ferrarini.
